SilentDirect Fabric One – acoustically optimized fabric for sound-absorbing constructions
SilentDirect Fabric One is a heavy, sound-absorbing fabric made from 100% recycled polyester, specially developed for covering acoustic panels, sound absorbers, wall solutions, and furniture where both aesthetics and acoustic performance are crucial. With a width of 140 cm and a weight of approximately 220 g/m², the fabric offers the right balance between sound transparency and absorption – making it perfect for those building their own sound absorbers or creating custom acoustic solutions in public and private environments.
The fabric has a soft, textile surface with a matte finish and is available in ten colors, making it easy to integrate into everything from offices and studios to homes and commercial spaces. The combination of durability, acoustic function, and environmental certification makes SilentDirect Fabric One a professional fabric choice for both design and function.
Sound absorption that works – for DIY and professional projects
For a fabric to work in acoustic contexts, both suitable density and controlled sound permeability are required. SilentDirect Fabric One is specifically designed to work in combination with sound-absorbing materials, allowing sound waves to pass through to the core without reflecting or improperly damping them. At the same time, the fabric's textile structure contributes to some self-absorption – an important feature when building effective absorbers for walls, ceilings, or standalone solutions. The fabric's acoustic properties make it an obvious choice both for professional manufacturers and for DIY enthusiasts who want to build their own acoustic panels or cover acoustic products with a fabric that both works and lasts.
Recycled polyester – better for the environment, without compromising on quality
SilentDirect Fabric One is made from 100% recycled polyester, produced from materials such as PET bottles, fishing nets, and other plastic waste. By using recycled raw materials, we reduce greenhouse gas emissions, eliminate the need for new crude oil, and simultaneously contribute to cleaner oceans and reduced environmental impact. Recycled polyester can also be recycled again – without losing quality or performance.
The fabric is OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified, free from harmful substances and safe to use in all types of indoor environments – even for children, allergy sufferers, or sensitive users. It is odorless, emits no emissions, and is not negatively affected by moisture, making it suitable even in high-wear or climate-variable environments.
Durable, washable, and long-lasting
With a Martindale abrasion resistance of 25,000–35,000, SilentDirect Fabric One is built to withstand heavy use over time. The fabric is moisture-resistant, mold-resistant, and UV-resistant for standard indoor use. It is also easy to maintain – vacuuming or light wiping is sufficient, and if needed, the fabric can be gently hand-washed.
Recommended installation for acoustic applications is with a staple gun, as glue can negatively affect the acoustic properties. The fabric’s straight-cut edges and dimensionally stable structure make it easy to stretch, shape, or adapt to specific measurements.
